It was all smiles at the WCPS Board Meeting on Monday! Students that took part in Theatre Camp this summer put on a special performance. More than 90 campers in grades 3-12 participated from schools across the division. The camp was in collaboration with WCPS & Emory & Henry.

School Supply Donations: A big THANK YOU to the United Way of Southwest Virginia and the community for helping to ensure our students are prepared to head back to school! These items were collected through the United Way's annual Stuff the Bus supply drive.
If you're looking for something fun to do on Monday following Open House, check out National Night Out! This free community event is presented by the Abingdon Police Department & Washington County Sheriffs Office. All the fun will take place at The Meadows, starting at 5:00 p.m.
The Brain Architecture Game: On Wednesday, new teachers to WCPS spent time playing this game that builds understanding of the powerful role of experiences on early brain development -- what promotes it and what can derail it. Staff built 'brains' with pipe cleaners and straws.

Attention Patrick Henry High School Parents and Students, we will be having our Open House/Student Registration on Monday, August 5, 2024 from 12:00 pm - 6:30 pm. During this time you can meet your teachers, walk through your schedule, talk to our school nurse if your student has any medical or medication needs, and find out what bus you ride. At this time you may also pick up your chromebook and pay the $5.00 chromebook fee. Please note, teachers will not be available before 12:00 pm and chromebooks will not be checked out before 12:00 pm. Please remember, you must pay the $5.00 chromebook fee before picking up your chromebook.
There will also be a 9th grade class meeting on this day at 5:00 pm in the auditorium.
